Hi
I have automator workflow folder action set up to watch my scans folder so when I scan documents they get filed to the proper folder.
I have filter finder items set up to find items by filename, let's say Ford
and move those items into my vehicles folder.
It's not working. I don't know what is wrong. I checked the folder actions for the scans folder in services and the workflow is attached.

Have you upgraded your version of OS X since the last time these workflows worked properly? In the past Automator workflows sometimes broke down when the OS was upgraded. Sometimes the fix is as simple as opening the workflow in Automator and re-saving it.

I'm still on Yosemite. Haven't upgraded to sierra yet due to fujitsu software issues.
I've tried editing the workflow and resavingit. Nothing. I've even made a new duplicate wokflow with different name. Nothing. Strange. I don't know what happened.

What happens when you try to run the workflow? Are any error messages generated? If you pull the workflow into Automator and try to run it what errors, if any, are generated?

It seems the move part is broken.
No item references were passed to the move items action.

Can you post the list of steps that you are using. I'll try and take a look at things this weekend and see if I can figure out what's happening. Not an Automator genius but I've poked around with it a bit.

I'm choosing folder action I set the folder that I want the action to be performed on, which is my scan folder,
then filter finder items, any folder that name contains keyword example Ford for all my auto bills
then I have move finder items to and I choose the ford folder which is in my in my documents/ford folder.
It used to work so I don't know what happened. Many thanks.
