TL; DR: Trying to boot Sierra/Mavericks USB installer made through transmac, but nothing showing on boot options.

So I have a macbook pro 13'' mid 2010 that I uninstalled OS X from about a year ago and just ran Ubuntu Linux. I am now wanting to reinstall OSX on this device but have ran into some problems. First I tried installing OS X el capitan through internet recovery, however I ran into the error "This Item is temporarily unavailable" which I researched, finding out that it is related to my device not being listed under my apple id, which it was not. I called up apple, and the only conclusion they came to was bringing my device to a retail store, so I hung up on them and tried a different method. Before I uninstalled OS X I backed up the Mavericks installer.app. So I found the program transmac, that I used to write the dmg file in the mavericks installer to a USB drive, making it bootable.(Yes i did convert the disk to GPT before writing the dmg to the drive.) After putting it in my macbook and holding option upon boot, nothing showed on the screen. I then downloaded the OS X sierra installer online that was supposedly pulled right from the Mac app store, and put that on the drive, but still nothing. I then tried another USB drive, as i know that some may not work, especcialy with Macs. I used a drive that I was previously able to boot a Ubuntu Live cd on on this system, so I knew it should work. The same thing happend and it was just not showing. SO does anyone have any suggestions on how to boot this usb, or any fix for "this item is temporarily unavailable. Thanks!

Edit: I do not have access to any other Mac systems, only Windows and Ubuntu.

Which means you likely torrented it or something. Sorry, no help for you.
