When I used Migration Assistant to migrate my settings from an old MBP to the new one (Both with El Cap 10.11.15) for some reason it created my account on the new system in ALL CAPS. That's annoying. So I went to Apple to see how to change it to be mixed case, you know, First Last. I found this article:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201548

It looks simple, but has anybody actually done that? I'm interested in any "unintended consequences" of making the change that way. I have multiple backups, so nothing but my time will be lost if it goes south, but are there any hidden man-traps in that process?

TIA

I've done it before without any problems. There are no pitfalls provided you follow the directions in the Apple KB article. And since you have backups you can always recover if something goes wrong.

Thanks, chscag, I went ahead and it's done. Rebooted and all is good now. No more SHOUTING!
