Hey guys. Just got some weird behaviour from my MBP. Battery was at 70% & pluged in; my mac just shut down whilst reading an article on the web. Screen went black and then I got an odd looking error message in english and other languages, which read something along the lines of, "Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press any key or wait a few seconds for it to restart." It restarted and asked me to log in. Seems fine now.

Has anyone seen this before. Anything to be concerned about?

many thanks,

(MBP 15 Mid 2014 running 10.10.5)

Again

Ok, very odd. This just happened again a few minutes after, now whilst using Excel. but this time the odd looking black (background) and white (text) message only flashed on screen momentarity and then a message (attached) displayed on screen with similar information on it;

If the image you got is something like what I've linked here, then that's a Kernel Panic. You should read more about it here which will explain how to get the logs so that you can share them with us to determine what the culprit might be.

A few things to try, ensure you have enough disk space. Ensure you aren't running any antivirus software. You should run OnyX to clean things up. A Disk Utility Disk Repair is a good thing to do from time to time.

Lastly, you have enough memory so an upgrade to OS X 10.11 El Capitan might not be a bad idea once you've resolved any lingering issues you might have.
