I am having difficulty connecting my Epson V39 Perfection to my Mac 10.10.5 desktop I went throught all the steps and trouble shooting with an Epson tech but I still receive "cannot connect to computer" message everytime I launch the scanner program. I even logged in as a different user but the same thing happened. All drivers are updated. Any ideas?

I use the Program VueScan with my iMac and MacPro. It is really a worthwhile purchase and works great with any scanner i have ever owned. It is a little pricey, but entitles you to lifetime updates. You can use as a trial version to see if it works for you.

Are you attempting a wired or wireless connection? Try a wired connection first and work from there. Some printer manufacturers recommend a wired connection at first and after communications are established you can begin to set up the wireless connection.

I use an Epson TX550W, and under Mavericks and earlier, just pressing the Scan button got it working just great. With Yosemite and El Capitan, the Scan button no longer works. It is necessary to go into Applications > Epson Software > Scan and it then scans from there. Just something different in the Epson Software I imagine.
