Clean install of Yosemite on SSD but iTunes half star rating is not working after Terminal command of (defaults write com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars -bool TRUE)
Tried the reverse command (defaults delete com.apple.iTunes allow-half-stars) & got the following (2015-09-08 18:10:05.065 defaults[5017:260378]
Domain (com.apple.iTunes) not found.
Defaults have not been changed.
)

iTunes library is located on the original 500GB & is configured in preferences correctly as iTunes can read all my previous playlists, ratings etc.

Is there a command to find the correct path to iTunes or to correct the path so this command works??

There should be a com.apple.itunes.plist in ~/Library/Preferences. That's what that command is trying to write to.
Make sure it's not locked and the permissions are right.

Thanks for the advice Craig. Unfortunately the preferences file was not locked. I downloaded a new install of iTunes and this had no effect either. I feel that it might be a preference file of some sorts that is not pointing to com.apple.iTunes correctly. Any ideas / thoughts?

Reinstalling iTunes was a waste of time.Look in com.apple.iTunes.plist with a text editor and see if you see this: (pic)
If you do, it probably wont work. Apple may have removed the preference option.

Why even mess with it? Just download the free "TinkerTool" app and go to the iTunes option and select half star ratings. No fuss, no muss, no cuss. :Smirk:
