Tried to install snow leopard, but now loud beeps?

Hi I had Mavericks on my iMac but I wanted to install snow leopard. I erased my hard drive and then rebooted to try and boot into the install disk for snow leopard, but all I get now is loud beeps when booting up. It doesn't get past the apple logo screen. Any way to fix this?

Cannot answer your question without knowing exactly what model iMac it is. It is possible (if it's a newer model iMac)…that it cannot run Snow Leopard.
