I took a couple of short videos, and downloaded them into iPhoto. I wish to email the videos, but it isn't possible from iPhoto. Can anyone suggest a way to do this.

How short is short? Couple of seconds? Couple of minutes?

As an example I took a 30 second video at 1080 on my iPhone. It was 47mb in size. Most email providers will let you send 10mb attachments, some up to 25mb.

Unless you're videos are very small in size I doubt that email is going to be a practical way to send them.

But to get them out of iPhoto to email, upload or otherwise manipulate you can select them and export them to a folder elsewhere on you Mac

You've also got to consider the limit of the recipients mail inbox and also the max size attachment for Apple's Mail(for which I can't find an answer).

You could always use Dropbox to upload to and then email the link to it.

That's your broadband usage limit not the size of email attachment limit.

A service like Dropbox, OneCloud, Copy, Box etc is the best method.

You upload and share a link for others to download

^^^ that.

Dropbox only offers 2GB for free, which is annoyingly small. You might want to check out other services that offer more space, like Copy, OneDrive, SugarSync, Box, and about a dozen others.

Here's a referral code that will get you 20GB free with Copy (instead of the usual 15GB). No spam. Very nice service I have really enjoyed using.

Thanks all who suggested certain services to mail my videos, I have You Send It installed, and have used it to send music before, no problem, think I'll give it a try.

If I'm allowed to change the subject on this thread, Mail has recently been advising of new mail, but in fact they are emails already received previously and opened, this is a Mail thing I'm sure and not the server, any suggestion to prevent this/

Re: Sending large files.
"SendThisFile" is just another one of the many ways of sending large files. I don't know what the size limit is for the free version, but I suspect that it's big enough to handle your stuff. They will throttle down the upload speeds of your larger files, so you might want to consider starting a "send" and then going out to lunch (and maybe supper, as well) or just do something else -- it will run in the background. Attached are the instructions I just got from the company.

Re: Duplicate Inbox messages in Mail.
I was having similar problems in Outlook for Mac 2011. Somewhere in my search for a solution, I read that while this can become a problem using POP, it won't happen using IMAP. Just yesterday I managed to make the switch in Outlook, and it remains to be seen whether it works or not. If you're using POP and your mail server is associated with Outlook.com as so many are, you might find the following link useful:
How to set up Mac Mail to use IMAP for Outlook.com - CNET

Good luck!
