When I open an application on my Mac, the toolbar is at the top of the screen. I vaguely remember having a choice about that when I first got the Mac and I chose this location. But i'd like to have the application toolbar be at the top of the application's window rather than the top of the screen. How can I do this.

That sounds like a specific feature of the app you're using as that's not a universal feature. What application are you trying to do this in?

Sure you are not thinking of the Dock which can be placed sides etc?
