I hope this is a simple solution. I would like to know how to prevent applications or processes from coming back to front when completing a task. For example. I have a large number of zip files to open. I will select them all and click "open". They will start opening. This can take a while so I would like to do something else, say go back to my online browser. However every time a zip file opens every few seconds, my window is forced back to the finder. How can I set it to just do its thing in the background and not bother me until I want to go back? Thank you for any help.

What about doing that task in a different space?
