I have migrated from Windows 7 with WLM and a POP 3 account to Mac with a IMAP account. In doing so I have experienced a lot of SPAM arriving in a BULK MAIL Folder in the ON MY MAC folder structure. Does anyone have any recommendations to eliminate the spam or should I reinstall my Norton 360 antivirus?

There is no need to install an anti-virus application since there are no viruses in the wild which can infect your Mac. Besides, an AV application has nothing to do with blocking SPAM. You need to make sure SPAM is being filtered out by your ISP. Most ISPs use an aggressive SPAM filter. You didn't mention who your ISP is but Google Mail (GMail) and others are very good at filtering out SPAM. Perhaps you need to change your ISP?

Also, I have changed the title of your thread. Your user name is not an appropriate title.

Thanks, I had overlooked to reply. As you say the problem was with my ISP and is now resolved.
