Hello,
I recently had to reinstall MacOX Lion on my MacBook Pro. For some reason both my printer and scanner are not supported by Canon. I have a Pixma IP3000 printer and a Canoscan 8800 scanner. Both were working well before I did the reinstall, but now I cannot get the drivers. Any help would be appreciated as buying new is just way out of my reach.

Thank you.

Did you try to completely remove the Canon Printer and Scanner and then reinstall with the original software? I find Canon to be a pain whenever something changes that causes it to go off the air - such as a network change or reinstalling OS X. Usually removing and reinstalling the printer solves the problem. I have no experience with their scanners except the one which is included with my all in one Canon.

Have you run Software Update and updated to the latest version of 10.7 plus everything else available?

Have you tried adding them via System Preferences - View - Print and Scan?

They must both be connected.

Hi chscag,
When I reinstalled Lion I assume all the previous settings were overwritten. Lost all my emails and itunes music for example.

Hi bobtomay,
update reports that there are no updates. Canon states on its website that neither the printer nor scanner are supported in Lion.

Thanks anyway,

TJB.

Because Apple packages the drivers in the operating system.

Question still remains, have you opened up System Preferences - Print and Scan and tried to add them?

Settings only erased if you completely erased and formatted the hard drive, not for a simple re-install.
