It happens frequently that I will sign-up for a new service or to subscribe to a newsletter and will be told my email address is not valid. I have entered my email address correctly and try it with 3 other addresses (gmail, hotmail and my company email) all to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forums . . . . .

Browsers

Hi! I have tried Chrome, FireFox and Safari with exactly the same complications. I created a fake, new email address so, in a bind, I can at least accomplish what needs to get done but this isn't an ideal, sustainable solution.

Hey Mac Daddys! I'd like to reactivate this thread because I am still without a solution. Anyone out there with a solution regarding my email address being rejected when I register for new services? Many, many thanks!

Just a thought. Try dragging the Mail .plist on your desktop while mail isnt open, and once you have open Mail again and try again.
You might have a corrupt Preference file, and you will either locate it username/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences
or
/username/Library/Preferences/ but im more inclined to check the first Path. If you drag it to the Desktop and it works for you, trash it, but if not you can put it back from where it came from.
Also try to Verify Permissions via Disk Utility and the Repair.
Open DU sélect your HD in the left column, select First Aid tab and Verify, and then do the same to Repair. Log out then back in and see if that makes any difference.

Cheers

Hey Tatooed Mac!

Thank you for this! My apologies for being remiss in my reply. I don't actually understand how to do what you suggested so I'm meeting with a guy to help me out tomorrow. I wanted to let you know I appreciate your time and will let you know how it turns out. Thank you again and I have my fingers crossed this will be the solution. All the best!

just a thought..... do you have any unusual characters/symbols in your address?

It's hard a tell without you posting it unfortunately but I'd suggest that something in the address it's is triggering the validation on the websites you're visiting.

This was my thought as well. I don't think this has anything to do with the browsers and instead, has everything to do with your email address. I think it either has something to do with the characters in the address or, perhaps, something in the address is setting off a filter.
