any advive? buying os x on ebay

This might be a daft Q. Not too clued up on the ins and outs of mac os discs. I need to upgrade to 10.5.8 . Seen some retail discs ( I know to stay away from machine specific discs, through earlier posts) on ebay. Will these discs work if they have already been used to instal an os on another mac. Do they not only work once?

As long as it is a retail disc, you are good to go. Leopard doesn't use serial numbers or anything like that.
