Hi

I want to record some speeches from skype but the problem is that Jing (the video capture program) does not copy audio from the built in audio input as I wish, but from the built-in microphone (Jing records from speakers) and the result is really bad. Is there any way to enable the built in input?

ps. I couldn't find anything at 'sound' settings that help..

What model is your Mac and what version of OSX?

When you say you could not find anything in the sound settings, are you talking in OSX's System Preferences or that applications sound settings?

Here is System Preferences, Sound and the Input tab in 10.7.2 Lion on my iMac. You can select input there as the sound source.

Hope that helps.

I just downloaded and installed Jing. Found the Jink preferences and both the Mic and Input are showing up here.

Is your Macbook Pro the 13"? That one has a combined Audio Out and In using the same jack. Is anything plugged into that jack?

Another option you may want to consider: throw that crappy program away and buy a copy of Piezo ($10). Try it free first to make sure it meets your needs, but this is exactly what it was designed for.

Dennis, yes, that's what i meant about sound settings, the same option as you show in the picture. However, I didn't understand what you meant by this:
"That one has a combined Audio Out and In using the same jack. Is anything plugged into that jack?"

Just for the record, through Jing's options, in "audio input selection" only the built-in microphone option seems to work. Built-in input doesn't seem to function..

Chas_m, thanks for the Piezo, however it is only for audio and I need both audio and video.. ^^
