I downloaded and began the install today for lion. It's been running for over an hour and when it finally got to the end it's stuck on the splash screen a d shows "-45 minutes remaining". The time increases every couple minutes. Anybody ran across this? Any solutions or suggestions?

Same problem here. At -40 minutes. I'm thinking of just rebooting... what did you guys do in the end?

I left the room, came back, and now the progress bar is at about 75%. Says "8 minutes" remaining now. We'll see what happens...

Update: I ended up waiting long enough and it finished installing fine.

My download took almost seven hours and install about 35 minutes. I just let it do its thing and walked away from it.

After about an hour of negative time remaining, the progress bar went back to about 50% and it started saying "18 minutes remaining" and ended up finishing...

Negative Minutes Remaining

I've installed OS X 10.7 via the App store on my MBP 13-inch early 2011 and it worked fine. Then I installed it on my Mac Mini (MID 2010) and it started giving me the negative minutes remaining and went to about -20 minutes I think. Then next thing I noticed it was back to 16 minutes remaining. I wasn't able to stay to see if it finished, but I'll update as soon as I get back home.

I luckily managed to create a bootable version of OS X 10.7 on my thumb drive before I did the Mini and used that to install on my MBP 15-inch Early 2007. I did not get the negative minutes remaining on that one. Error seems a bit inconsistent so I'm not sure as to the cause. All my machines had 10.6.8, although I'm not sure now as to whether I downloaded the migration assistant update on the Mini. Perhaps that could have been the issue.

For some reason I can't figure out how to update my original post so here it is.

The issue seems to take care of itself if you let it go, however the time it takes seems to vary. I've now installed on various MacBook Pros, iMac, Mac Minis, and the MacBook Air and I've only had this issue on my Mac Mini MID 2010 and it eventually installed fine.
