stupid screensaver problem

This sounds dumb, but it's the most frustrating thing in the world:

is there any way to stop the screensaver or hot corners from activating in certain programs, without having to manually turn them off every time?

for example, while streaming video in Safari, or watching the visualization in iTunes (screensaver), or playing a game (hot corners).

sorry if this is really basic, or has been posted before.

I have to ask... what's the reason for using the screensaver? If it's for protecting the screen from burn in, modern LCD displays do not ordinarily suffer from burn in. If it's for security purposes when you're away from the machine, instead, put the machine to sleep and make sure that a password is required to wake it.

To get back to your question.... The screensaver and hot corners are either set or disabled. There's no in between setting for a specific program.
