I have seen several discussions about people forgetting their OS log in password. Well I just found this helpful article on how to reset your user password. I wanted to pass along to all those memory challenged folks out there. As the article states, this trick is for people who dont have their original install CD that came with their Mac. THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO HELP PEOPLE HACK INTO UNAUTHORIZED COMPUTERS!!!

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
I don't know about the above commands, but off memory this is the trick I used to test setting up a new admin account without discs.

Rebooot, holding command + s down as soon as you hear the chime.
When you get text prompt, enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account, hitting enter after each line:
mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now

After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you're good to go again!

I forget what this post was about.
Now where'd I put my exotic, water filtered tobacco pipe?

Hehe.... when I first saw the title, I got me thinking about my Cheech and Chong days of my past, and how lucky I am that I can even remember who I am when I see myself in the mirror :D
