anybody knows an application for realtime mic -> speakers audio hearing

What I want to do is connect a mic to the computer and be able to hear what we talk, into the speakers.
And at any moment if garage band is open to press record and it will start record from that moment on the data coming from the mic.

So basically the program must stream(play) all the time data coming from the mic.

this is an easy one.
use garageband, it can do this easily

1. Make sure your mic is plugged into the computer
2. open system preferences >sound >Input, and select line in
3.In garage band open a new basic track
4. press the info button, and turn monitoring on.
just be sure to keep the mic a little ways away from the speakers otherwise you'll get some INTENSE feedback
you can also add effects and such from the info menu
