iMac 20"
Hi, all I’m new to this forum. I have just got an iMac a couple months ago and have just ran into my first problem. Something is wrong with my Font Book application. I try to open it and it crashes on launch, I have never even seen the program interface. Does anyone know any alternatives to Font Book or how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

You can try repair your permissions by going into your Applications folder and opening up Disk Utility.

After repairing your permissions... reboot.

Alternatives for FontBook include Extensis Suitcase or LinoType FontExlporer X.

Extensis Suitcase Fusion (Universal)

LinoType FontExplorer X (Universal) (Free)

I use Extensis SuitCase X1 at work and LinoType FontExplorer X at home on my MBP.

Both work well. I like FontExplorer better than SuitCase b/c of it's duplicate font finder. Works great!

FontExplorer will also automatically activate fonts.

At school we use, Suitcase but I just downloaded FontExplorer X a half-hour ago. It's been updated and it's a Universal Binary version for Intel-based Macs and PowerPC Macs alike.
