I see the SlimJet browser mentioned in a few threads, but I see no dedicated thread about that browser, so I thought I would start one.

I just downloaded and installed it on a Mac Mini running El Capitan.
That went well, quickly and without a hitch.

Then imported all settings from Firefox.
That went incredibly quickly - I would say less than 10 seconds and I have tons of bookmarks.
The Firefox bookmark bar folders actually ended up as SlimJet bookmark bar folders (along with a few SlimJt prepopulated ones - that was better than when I imported on Brave about a year ago.

But then the problem started.....many of the bookmarks for some reason do not work - I get this message:
This site can’t be reached
The webpage at Home - BBC News might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_FAILED

I get the same message with cnn and also with the mac-forum (see attachment)

But I also have other websites in the bookmark bar that come up fine.

I haven't tried to figure out what the problem is, but something like that, a few minutes after the browser is installed, doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in that product.

PS: The link for the BBC was this without the quotation marks "https://www.bbc.co.uk/news]Home - BBC News"

Taking a few minutes to check a few more sites - it seems all the sites that do come up are http URLs and the ones that do not and give the error message are https URLs

I can't even launch google to try to find out what the problem is (Err failed is rather useless) and how to fix that.
