On my iMac running iCloud Find My Phone to locate wife's iPad, Apple Watch, and iPhone, the found location is different for all devices. All devices are in the same location so this is inaccurate.

The app is showing the devices several hundred yards between her devices when in fact they are all grouped together in the same location.

Why is this not working correctly?

GPS, cell tower triangulation errors can be a large part of it. I just tried Find My with my iPhone, iPad, MBP and  watch. they are showing all to be within about 100 feet of each other, even though all four are right here on my desk in my office. I don't think Find My is intended to position things that closely, just to give you an idea of where the devices might be. Then you can trigger them to make noise so you can locate them by that. I also tried Find My on my iPhone and on the MBP at the same time and the devices shift around a bit on both systems. The movements are in sync, so the system is getting updates on where things think they are.

Are you seeing a solid circle without a larger circle? If so, the location is as exact as can be determined. If you see a larger translucent circle as well, then it's guessed. Either way, the accuracy of this is not down to inches, so it shouldn't be showing devices that are miles away when they are within your house for example, but it isn't going to tell you the device is on the opposite side of the house.
