macOS. 10.14. Composing a new email or replying to an email. In Mail / Preferences / Fonts & Colors I have my Font set at Verdana 14. I start typing in the body - if I manually move my cursor down to somewhere lower in the body - the font changes to Helvetica 12.
Why is this happening?

And is there a way to "clear" all of the 4 or 5 fonts listed in the dropdown of the composing mail Toolbar? Such as, clearing "Previous Recipients" ?

I believe I corrected it. The blank space, in Prefs, above my email Signature was a different font so when I would put my cursor in that blank space, when composing, it would change the font to that size / type

Also, when replying to mail with a different font size and typeface, you may have to make sure you reset your reply to the larger font and typeface you desire. It doesn't always default to what you set in options.
