I cannot update software - Keynote, Numbers, Pages, and iMovie - from AppStore, I get the message as shown in the attachment. I can get to my account page, everything is in order, and I cannot find anything to 'Accept'. Advice please.

So you open the App Store and click on your name on the bottom right or click CMD+0 and you don't see the 4 apps you need to accept to download?

Other than the Account name is bottom-left, you're correct. Neither of what you mention does anything, and there is nothing in Account Information that suggests 'Accept'.

This issue has arisen as a result of a new control board within the Mini - which is under discussion in the Hardware forum. There are six apps in total to be updated, but I can do without the other two.

Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with your Apple ID and password. A new logic board in your Mini means you now have a different computer. Hopefully, the Apple Tech burned your old serial number to the board firmware.

Go to System Preferences, click on the Apple ID icon and make sure all is well there. Then click on Software Update, select automatically keep my Mac up to date. The open Advanced and place a check in all the options. Reboot and try again.

Yes, definitely logged in correctly, my Account name is there (see reply to RazorEdge)

Umm, not sure what's what there, I'm out of my depth. Almost everything about the repaired Mini is the same as with the previous version, I have all the apps, games, controls, etc, etc; which leads me to assume the SSD was not part of the failed control board.

Go to System Preferences, click on the Apple ID icon

I'm using Mojave, no sign of an Apple ID icon in SysPrefs.

Then click on Software Update, select automatically keep my Mac up to date.

My concern with that option is Catalina, which I do not want - yet. It's the 32 vs 64 bit thing. Will Auto update install Catalina?

No, it will not install Catalina automatically but it will nag you about it and flag system preferences with a small number "1" over the icon. There is a way to avoid that though, here's how:

Open your terminal.app and copy and enter the following:

sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Catalina"

enter your password (it won't show), then press return. Exit the terminal. Now you won't be nagged with the update to Catalina.

@hughvane

As you have Mojave, go into System Preferences and then click on iCloud. That was what chscag was referring to in post number 4.

In Catalina, this was, apparently, replaced by Apple ID.

Yes you will need to be logged into iCloud. You don't need to use all of the storage options, in fact I would advise against using some such as Desktop and Documents storage and iCloud Photo library but the others are fine especially Find my Mac which is an intrinsic part of device ID and account protection services.

Maybe you should sign out of iCloud in System Preferences, and all Apps ID needed apps, ie iTunes, Books, App Store, etc, then sign back in to them again?

Thank you, tried it, didn't work, couldn't enter password. Not too fussed about the constant reminder.

Thank you. Went there, did that, still cannot update from AppStore. Disengaging from iCloud took forever and a day, so discontinued.

Reason why your password couldn't be entered is that it may not have asked you for it. I couldn't remember whether that command needed a password or not. In any event, you shouldn't be bothered with a Catalina update.

So how do you know that these apps actually need updating or that there are updates available?
The normal process as I'm sure you know is that you are notified that updates are available, you open the app store app, click on updates and the available ones appear. Clicking on Update or Update All then initiates the update/s.
Is you device shown in the Authorised list in you iTunes account? Have you tried Authorising the device from the Music app accounts menu?

Firstly, thank you to all responders. I passed the issue on to Apple Support, and I now have all those apps back in place, and no further updating required.

Should anyone else encounter the same problems I did, here's the solution;
1. Delete each relevant application from the Applications folder one at a time, and empty the trash each time - that is very important I was told.
2. Once deleted, return to AppStore, and enter the name of that deleted application in the search bar.
3. Download the application (click the cloud and down arrow symbol).
4. When completed, open that application from within AppStore, then Quit it.
5. Proceed to the next (old) application and repeat the process as outlined above.
6. When all is done, Quit App Store.
7. Reopen AppStore - all updates should have disappeared.
8. Check your Applications folder to ensure the reloaded apps are in place.

Happy Apping!
