You see exactly what I see. Column Browser isn't an available option
So, does what I showed in post #16 not meet the need? I'm not a big user of Music, nor of the late iTunes, so I am not familiar with exactly what it is you are looking for.

Has Apple really released 10.15.2 as he said? I haven't seen it and it's not showing up in Software Update. Is he talking beta?

Are these the options you're looking for?

No, that's not column browser. I'm looking for an option called Column Browser. Not View options or column options.

Nope, not what I have pretty much always used in iTunes. Column Browser is a completely different layout than just columns. With a large library like mine, viewing any way other than column browser is very cumbersome.

I'm amazed at how many people aren't familiar with the column browser option. It was the default layout for along time in iTunes, until Apple tried to bury it (and then removed it in Music).

Looks like the update has been released. I'll run it when I get home and see if it does indeed have the Column Browser option present. I'm also hoping that the option is present in the TV App as well. I have well over 1000 movies and 4500+ TV show episodes and Colum browser makes them much easier to brows as well.

I just updated and I see what you wanted. I don't see the use of it, as I don't play Music on my MBP, but it is there.

Great to hear it! By chance did you happen to notice if it's in the TV App as well?

I guess its just what I'm used to after so many years of using it. Like I said, my libraries are so large that anything else seems cumbersome to use.

According to Apple, Catalina 10.15.2 restores the Column Browser to the new Music app. Catalina 10.15.2 is available for download today. See our other thread regarding the update.

@baggss Maybe the reason I was seeing this option and you weren't is that I was running the public beta,

No worries. I just updated and the Column Browser view is back. Sadly, it's not in the TV App, but at least its in Music.

I wonder I Apple will bring it back, assuming it used to be there.

So many "features" seem to disappear with so many of their OS updates and upgrades. Is it intentional for some strange reason???

Well, technically it cannot have been there as "there" was inside iTunes, and iTunes is no more. I'm not sure how that column view would work in TV anyway (What columns would be of value?).

Features come and features go. For example, I find the integration of macOS and iOS is much better in Catalina than it was in any previous version. I love that I can verify an action from my  Watch instead of having to remember and type in a password. I like the handoff of messages from iPhone to my MBP. I find the integration of Photos to be a lot better than before. So, while some things may have gone, whatever they were I don't miss, and I like the things that came.

Kinda like my car. I used to use the ashtray for all sort of storage. But they don't put them in cars anymore, so I have to find another place. Fortunately, now they have cup holders, which I never had before, so that's a good thing. And I miss vent windows, but that's for another day and time...

I tended to agree, but I got around that problem by installing some WeatherTech rain guards. Great improvement, especially for our wet West Coast weather.

More or less the same columns that are useful in Music. In iTunes it displayed as GENRE (Column 1, showing all Genres) > SHOW (Column 2, Showing only shows in that Genre) > SEASON (Column 3, showing the shows seasons) with Episodes being shown below (in Column 4), for TV Shows. Much easier, IMO, to view a large number of files quickly and find what you are looking for.
