I really don't like Apple Mail with its unified inbox. I have a lot of email accounts and prefer to keep their contents separated and organized. Wish I could still use an older version of Mail before unified inboxes, but Apple won't allow that.
Any suggestions for alternatives? I've tried Thunderbird, which does have discrete inboxes, but hate that Mozilla refuses to have an option to automatically move spam to the junk folder. Their rationale that it can sometimes catch mail that isn't really junk is dumb. That's the exception rather than the rule. I can check the junk mail folder and quickly see if the odd legitimate mail is in it, and that's preferable to deleting lots of spam manually every day. Tried Spark, but don't like the layout and it has a unified inbox.
What is supposed to be the advantage of a unified inbox anyway? I honestly don't see it. I don't want to have to open a message to know which account it came in through.
