iMac, El Capitan

I have two really big picture folders created from an iPhone backup. What I need is an app to compare folders and delete duplicates files between the folders.

I did a sort on each but manually it could take forever.

There are apps to remove duplicate files from a folder, but not comparing folders.

Ideas?

Dupe Guru and Gemini are two that I've heard about, but I've never used either.

Just used Disk Drill, combined folders into one folder and used this app, it is free. Found about 500 .jpg duplicates about .5 of a gig.

This is very interesting because Disk Drill is a Data Recovery app and I didn't know that it could do as you posted. But it seems it does detect duplicates. And I didn't know it was free. Again that is news to me. Thank you.

+1. And thanks.

I didn't know that either and it seems that it's also been given quite a few improvements and features from the older version I had. And it also supports back to OS X 10.8.5 users.

It's their "Pro" version that's commercial it seems.

Even the free versions seems to have more features than I gave it credit for. Might be worth while taking another look and learn more.
