Is there a way to disable dark mode in outlook 2016?

Outlook has just updated itself and the dark mode feature has been added. This has been enabled by default and I can't for the life of me figure out how to disable it.

Im running Mojave 10.14.1 and I do have the OS in dark mode, so maybe outlook is just following the OS?

All other apps look well in dark mode, but not outlook.

It appears from what I have read about Microsoft implementing dark mode for their 2016 Office apps, that you will have to change the theme from dark to light. I do not use Office 2016 or Outlook so I can not test this myself. You'll just have to experiment.

Hello! In case you haven't found how to disable, run this command in Terminal:

Code:
defaults write com.microsoft.Outlook NSRequiresAquaSystemAppearance -bool yes

Found on this thread on another forum.

Thanks for the fix. Hope this will help other users who have the same question. However, you would think Microsoft would provide an easier way to change the dark theme back to light. :(
