iMessages not sending SMS, but previously did. Starting to lose my mind.
    1. I have my iMac's "iMessages" and iPhone's "Messages" app linked
    2. My girlfriend used to have an Android and iMessages would send her my texts via SMS
    3. I recently gave her my old iPhone (which she got a new SIM for and added her phone number to), and iMessages started sending her texts (ie: not via SMS Text Relay).
    4. Something happened to the iPhone, so now she is back on her Android.
    5. iMessages KEEPS sending my texts via iMessage protocol instead of via SMS Text Forwarding protocol (ie: the messages I send her from my iMessages app on my iMac are BLUE which means that my Mac thinks it's sending the message to another iPhone, instead of GREEN because her phone is once again an Android).
    6. I've already changed my AppleID password and was asked to re-authenticate, but the problem persists.

This is bordering on infuriating because both iMac and Messages show the the texts I've sent as "Delivered", whereas she is not getting them.
She ONLY gets the texts if I Copy the previously sent text message off of my phone's screen, and paste it back into the phone, and then send it.
When I do the Copy-n-Paste workaround on my phone that I just mentioned, iMessages then shows the (second) message as a GREEN text block sent via SMS.
This is ridiculous and a HUGE waste of my time.

    Any suggestions?

Did she create an Apple ID?

Assuming you have her in your Contacts, change her number from iPhone to Mobile instead. This might make it faster for iMessages to realize that the recipient isn't an iDevice and to use SMS instead.

As a matter of fact, she did.

Is there a way for her to disable her AppleID without deleting it?
If that wasn't where you were going with that, please clue me in.

    Thanks,

    J.

Just tried that. She was listed under "Mobile" already, but there was a blank category below that one that was listed as iPhone (with no number associated with it). Contacts wouldn't let me delete that line (even though, as I said, it was blank), so I changed that line from iPhone to Mobile as well so there was not mention of iPhone associated with her Contact information). Then I sent a "Test" text message from iMessages and it's still coming up BLUE, unfortunately.

No, I just wanted to be sure she had a separate one from yours.

On her device, go into Settings > Messages and see what it says for Send & Receive, I have two, my phone number, and my Apple ID listed. Make sure both are showing for her, and see what is selected for Start New Conversations From?

What OS versions are being used.

It seems that the various iMessages colors changed with the later versions and depending what was used to send them,
