Having had my new iPhone 7 for a couple of weeks now i thought I would clean up the archived backups of my old iPhone 5s in iMazing and perform a backup of the new iPhone.
On launching iMazing I was presented with the "Update Available" box so after a quick read of the changes I downloaded and restarted.
Wow! Encrypted scheduled WiFi backups to other storage device. There are of course other new features as well as the inevitable (but optional) menu bar item as well as the "launch at startup" option (I never usually opt for these) but the archive options and the ability to backup to say, a USB External Drive would be a very valuable storage saver for those that wish to perform a daily backup I am sure. Not to mention how much faster this is than an iCloud backup.
All in all there are some great things about this update and I will be using the weekly scheduled backup via WiFi with limited archiving.:D

I've been using iMazing for quite awhile. Actually got a free copy when they had their free download and license promotion last year, but have since updated it several times. It's a great app and I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't run iMazing since a couple of weeks ago when I was backing up some audiobooks from my wife's phone. I'll have to wait until another day to get a good look at the new features.

OK, Patrick... correction. It is an OS X application for the maintaining of iOS devices. Always glad to have your noted interjection and corrections. LOL.

Thank you for the retraction chscag, it certainly is for use with iOS but it is a macOS app.

A senior moment Rod. LOL. (I do get those once in awhile.)

iMazing 2 is a great app which I use quite often to backup our iPhones and iPad. It now supports wireless backups plus it can save backups to a location other than the default that iTunes uses.

Yes, they have a version for Windows and macOS. Same price.

Thank you. I found many such program provide several options to buy, one-year subscription or life-time license, for 1 person use or for family use. I would consider that.

I use iMazing as well. Current version 2.3.3.

In addition to Admin chscag's helpful comments about the very useful wireless backup plus storage to an EHD etc, you can update and upgrade your iDevice entirely through iMazing; and you can do a complete Restore from it.

This means that, should you chose to do so, you can manage your iDevices without ever going near iTunes.

(I am bound to declare that I have no financial or other interest in this product. My comments are based on my personal experience alone.)

Also as a very satisfied user, and that comment alone makes it really worth it, but as a bonus, iMazing can do even more and do it much better.

( Also, I have no financial or other interest in this product other than as a paid for user.)

It should be noted that when you make a backup of your iOS device using iTunes, the backup will be buried in a location which may be difficult to find. This can be a problem if you're trying to restore or using Time Machine to restore an older backup.

iMazing 2.0 can store your backups in an easier to find location - such as a sub folder to your documents folder. I make backups to my iPhones and iPad Pro using both iTunes and iMazing. Also.. don't forget that iCloud backups are automatic (if you have that option turned on) and are connected to power.
