Sierra 10.12 - Calendar App - 9.0
When I schedule an Event and have the Alert Default set at "At time of event" and then add another alert for example "15 minutes before" the next day that Event has multiple Alerts for "15 minutes before".

See the example and also my Calendar preference settings attached.

Is that causing you a problem? Does the alert happen on time? Multiple alerts at that time? Have you considered updating to the latest version of Sierra (10.12.3)?

Looks as if you have accidentally added more alerts (+ sign shows when you hover over the first alert) at some point. Go into the event and change the ones you don't want to 'none'.

I think this has to do with your accounts in Internet Accounts, which is under the Apple icon in ther upper left corner, then select System Preferences. Look for the accounts that you are sharing/syncing the calendar with.
