Hey John,
Thanks for the comment. Well, my worry was that Bento would not work with High Sierra. In case it didn't, I used Bento's Export feature and dumped the whole shebang into Excel. Installed High Sierra and Bento seems to still work fine.
Appreciate your counsel about Tap Forms 5.x. I actually have that - just need to get to it. Bento will eventually be functionally extinct, might as well do it now.
Thanks again for the post, John.

Hi Rick & John - I'm still stuck w/ my Access printouts of my CD collections (4 years now) - as I stated before, the easiest way for me to update the databases may be to find a PC w/ Access & a printer - :\ But, I suspect that Numbers will be my only option despite lousy printing features.

As to High Sierra and 32-bit apps - the newest macOS will still support 32-bit apps, but the next upgrade will not according to a number of articles that I've read over the last few months - a portion of just one quoted below - (Source) Dave :)

With the advent of High Sierra comes a shift away from 32-bit apps - although luckily this isn’t a complete move away from 32-bit, yet. MacOS High Sierra will still support 32-bit apps, but Apple has said that all apps sold on the Mac App Store should be 64-bit from January 2018.
So when it arrives in 2018 MacOS 10.14 will not support 32-bit apps at all. A little bit like the way iOS 11 doesn’t support 32-bit apps

While there is no version of Access for the Macintosh, but there are migration tools, and there are lots of database programs for the Macintosh to open your converted data in.

MDB / ACCDB Viewer
Open Microsoft Access Databases on your Mac (allows you to export your Access database to just about any other database)

DataDino
http://www.tucows.com/preview/324639/DataDino-Database-Explorer
convert database from one format to another

Converting an MS Access Database to FM Pro
Filemaker: Converting an MS Access Database to FM Pro, FileMaker to Access conversion

FmPro Migrator
Software (and service) to convert Access database to Filemaker Pro

Randy and RadDave - good comments and suggestions. So the end of Bento is definitely in sight now, just a matter of time. Have to get busy and migrate stuff over. I've never opened/used/considered Access and really know nothing about it. Time to explore!
Thanks!

Hi Randy - thanks for the links - I have the Access MDB files already exported to Excel and also to Numbers, but the latter's features and poor printing options are the drawbacks to me - the two files are my classical and non-classical CD collections which printout to 48 & 26 pages, respectively; an example of one page is shown below, left half - I really like being able to not reprint duplicate composer names - now if I bring that CD database into Numbers and select 'print', the format shown is on the right half - not bad if I could eliminate the composer duplicates and also rearrange the data in portrait view to put more entries on each page - the classical CD printout is currently 48 pages done in Access in 2013. Dave :)

I would seem to me that the solution would be to export the data into just about any inexpensive database. I gave a long list of them earlier in this thread.

Quite right - I'm realizing that I may not actually need all the functionality of a database; my CD library is just ten fields and Excel or Numbers may be adequate.

This is an update to an old thread.

I've found an amazing FREE database that is easy to use and which I think will meet the needs of quite a few users. It even allows you to create your own forms for data input. Automatic synchronization across computers is built-in, and it is cross platform (both Mac and Windows)!

January 21, 2009 update!

Well, I've lived w/ pencilling in my updates/deletions to my Classical Music Access printed out DB for 5+ years and virtually ran out of room! :rofl

SO, over the last week spending just a couple hours a day (because of neck strain!), I decided to do the updates in Numbers - first, the app could easily handle the nearly 3000 entries - initial pic below the first page of the sheet w/ the label# hidden (for printing) - second pic shows the preliminary print choices - used my Brother laser w/ double-sided printing of 56 pages, i.e. 28 pieces of paper (not bad!) - looks good. Summed up the number column which was 4500+ discs (have a LOT of boxes w/ numerous discs, some into the dozens).

Second, my main regret from the printout (2nd pic) is that Numbers is quite limited in its printing features - as w/ my old Access printouts, I would still love to NOT repeat 'identical' entries in the first and last name categories, just a lot easier to read. BUT, I can easily live w/ this new approach - however, if someone knows how to 'manipulate' Numbers printout features, then please advise. Dave :)

P.S. Thanks to all that have contribute to this thread and issue and also in a number of other related threads - appreciated.
