Like you would any other app - App Store on your iPad and from the Viber website for your Mac (there's no WhatsApp app for OS X).

i have check the whatsapp on the app store and didn't get it but had it on my iphone

Whatsapp only works on phones (you need a phone number to create/verify an account) and so it's not available on iPad or iMac or any desktop..

Look at WeChat instead..

I'm guessing that the friend is using the iPhone version which will work but look terrible.

Whatsapp isn't even compatible with the iPad, it's iPhone only so you couldn't even force install it through iTunes. Even if it was installed, the account verification requires a phone number to receive a SMS and unless I'm mistaken an iPad with a SIM card only uses it for data and has no phone number associated with it..

But hey what do I know? I'm just a software engineer who works with these apps and environments all day..
