Mac won't open downloads

On my mac when I try to download games from the internet they download, but when you try to open them it says the file might be truncated, corrupted, or in an unexpected format. I don't know what to open them with or try to download to make them open.

Hi and welcome to the forums.

Are you sure you are downloading the Mac .v of what ever it is you are downloading. Anything that is installed on your Mac has to be installed with a .dmg Installer, so if its anything other than than this, then you might find it hard going...... So if you can tell us what format they are in , and while your there what Mac and OS you are runnimng then we could help out more
