I am using Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac (2008) to work on a presentation originally created in OpenOffice. One problem I have is that a pilcrow (a crotchet of all things) appears after every paragraph. The pilcrow actually shows up on the printed & exported version, which is a problem, esp. for the page numbers which renders them unreadable. I have searched the internet for a solution but have had no luck so far. Any ideas?
Thanks!

A "pilcrow" is actually a paragraph mark. Have you tried going back to the original presentation in Open Office and eliminating all paragraph marks before attempting to export it to Powerpoint?

thanks for your answer. I had thought of that solution too but unfortunately there are some difficulties: I have yet to discover a way of enabling/disabling non-printing characters in either PowerPoint or Impress. Also, the pilcrows were never enabled in Impress and still don't show up if I open the document in OpenOffice. (I'd actually consider using Open Office to export the Presentation to PDF, however Impress can't handle some additions from PowerPoint, esp. borders around images, so right now I'm in a bit of a catch-34)
