Ok, this might be a little long winded...

A good friend has had an iPod for a few years, however he has not had a pc (mac or ms) for a while. Most of the songs on his iPod were ripped from cds he had and on a comp he no longer has access to.
He has recently purchased a new comp (pc, i tried to talk him out of it) and wants to get his songs from his iPod to his NEW iTunes account, but when he plugs his iPod into his comp he has 2 options, to wipe his iPod and sync with his current iTunes library or to put all the songs from his iPod into his iTunes library. If he chooses the second option, it tells him something about not being authorized to do this yada yada yada.
Is there a way to make his pc see his iPod as an external hard drive and import to iTunes that way? Are there any other ways I would have no idea about? I'd really like to help him out, TYI for any advice. :p

Thanks McYukon, I'm pretty sure the old account is out of the question, it was an account he and an old gf shared. So I'll have to try the second option. Thanks again for your help.
