I just got Snow Leopard and I noticed that I can no longer play videos in iPhoto, meaning when I double click in iPhoto usually Quicktime will launch and the video will play. Now in Snow Leopard, nothing happens. Does anyone know how I can get videos to launch in Quicktime when I click on them in iPhoto on 10.6? Thanks.

On the drive I upgraded to SL, my videos in iPhoto 08 play in QuickTime Player Pro. That application was placed in the Applications/Utilities folder. Do you have that? If so, perhaps show use "Show File" in the Finder by right clicking it in iPhoto, then do a Get Info and change it's association to the older player.

I'm just guessing, since for me it is working. I have't upgraded that system drive to iPhoto 09 yet, and likely won't anytime soon.

I do not have QuickTime Player Pro anywhere on my computer, just QuickTime Player. I am using iPhoto 08 version 7.1.5(378)

I installed Quicktime 7 from the Optional Installs/Optional Installs.mkpg.

Now my movie files open from iPhoto as usual but in Quicktime 7 not the new 10.0.

iPhoto does not play videos

iPhoto does not play videos since I've upgraded to Snow Leopard. Dragging the video on QuickTime in the dock results in the following message: "Can't find application". QT is in the applications folder, launches correctly and plays videos as normal.

Any suggestions?

There are two QuickTime Players if you have SN. The newer one may not play some video formats, so when that happens, QuickTime X looks for QuickTime Player 7. If you had QuickTime Pro, it was copied to the Utilities folder, while I think the non-Pro was removed. You have to insert the SN DVD and install the older player.

If that doesn't work, I know what will.

It didn't work for me

This didn't work for me... it wouldn't let me install QT 7.0. What else can you tell me about getting iphoto to play videos from QT, being that I have version 10.0 and Snow Leopard? Thanks :)
