I'm a recent convert to the whole Mac scene and wish I made the leap years ago. There are very few PC programs I still have a use for, but one is Quicken. We have used the PC version for years and love the program. Right now I'm using Virtual PC to run Quicken, but would love it if I could simply use my Mac. The only reason I haven't bought the Mac version up to this point is a question of compatability. Would I be able to use the backup file from the PC version to restore/start the Mac version?

You should be able to.. and with your new Mac you should have received Quicken, unless you didn't buy a new Mac. They have really improved the compatibility between Mac and PC with Quicken and Quickbooks

Thanks, but no Quicken

Thanks for your time. I'm somewhat puzzled though. You're the second person who said my Powermac G5 should have come with Quicken. It is a brand new Mac, but it only has Quick Book. I thought I read somewhere that only the iBooks and possibly the Powerbooks came with Quicken. In any event, I was hoping for a more definite answer before I run out an buy it, but as I stated, thanks for taking the time to respond. My .Mac subscription came with telephonic support, so maybe I'll try and get my $ worth.

It came with Quickbooks!? I have never heard that.. that is a $300 program while Quicken is a $70 program.. I would definitely count my blessings then :) And yeah contact them and see what they have to say about it.

Quickbooks

Being still a newbie to Mac, I'm not sure what Quickbooks is. I didn't actually open it, I just saw the name in my applications folder. Unfortunately, I'm at work right now and can't check it out. I guess I'll have to when I get home though.
