So recently I dropped my iPod Touch 4th Generation real badly, and cracked the screen alot. But everything seems to work fine, the only thing that doesn't work real well is the home button. The home button is very unresponsive and in order to get it to work, you need to press down really hard.

When I repair my LCD+Digitzer, will the home button work, or will a new one be required? And is there a temporary fix for this until I get it fixed? Thanks in advance!

You should get a new entire front panel if you are having issues with the home button... A temporary fix would be go in settings, general, accessibility, assistive touch and turn that on and you an use that as a virtual home button.

It's hard to say until you open it up, but even then, the button may still press, but not function.
