The Coconut Battery Plus version allows you to see the battery status on your iPhone via WiFi from your Mac. In other words, you don't have to attach the phone to your Mac. As I stated previously, the battery status which is now built into iOS is accurate and you can check it from anywhere. No need for Coconut Battery Plus.

Hello again Lori - not sure why you're having such a lot of trouble - the download (DL) to your Mac computer is from HERE (pic below) and appears as an icon in your DL folder which can be easily dragged to your Applications folder - you then need to cable your iDevice(s) to your computer and open the app - click on the 'iOS Device' tab and the information about that device's battery should be shown; now, this is for the non-Plus version. Let us know. Dave

The indicator for the battery charge is accurate, but in my experience, the health indicator is grossly inaccurate. In the most extreme example, my mother-in-law’s iPhone was draining from 100% charge to nothing in about an hour while doing nothing but play some music. I literally could watch the charge indicator drop over a couple minutes. That despite hard resets and reinstalls of iOS. The battery health indicator read something like 96%. Coconut Battery had a more realistic number of something like 65%. Replacing the battery got her back to normal usage.

I’ve seen similar disparities with my own iPhones and my wife’s in the past, though not quite with the extremely low life that my in-law had. Right now, my iPhone XR, which is just over a year old, still reads as having a battery life of 100%. I can’t check that against Coconut Battery right now, but I have a hard time believing that after a year of regular use, the battery hasn’t degraded even slightly.

Well, kind of baffled - have you tried another cable and since you are on Sierra, does your iPhone show up in iTunes? Dave

I had put that aside for now. but will try again and document exactly what happens. yes I think my phone shows up in iTunes....I don't do anything specific with iTunes and it just pops up whenever and I really don't understand why....so I ignore it.

tho right now this is not a priority for me as have other things to sort out.

Hey Bob - thanks for the 'heads-up' on the battery features in iMazing - I've been using this app for a while and now not sure when this feature was added; but just checked both of my iDevice battery specs using the menu icon - works even on Wi-Fi w/o having to cable; I do have Coconut Plus, so can check the same specs wirelessly w/ that app, too - Dave :)

The "access denied etc" may be because, as a security feature, when you connect any iDevice to your Mac, you must then open/activate your iDevice by Passcode, Fingerprint ID or Face Recognition.

In other words, you connect your iDevice to the Mac. Open the app (coconut, iTunes etc) then open your iDevice with one of the methods above.

This is to prevent illegal use of your iDevice in the wrong hands. You will have to do this each time.

Okay, now you're cooking. So as mentioned mine is at 84% and still fine but 95% should last you for a year or so more at least. Like me you may have to resort to a portable power pack. They are small and very powerful these days

Hi Lori - congrats on getting Coconut Battery to finally work; still not sure why you had so much difficulty. As already stated by Rod, your battery is in good shape - two important measurements shown are the 'Battery Health' which is 94.6% (i.e. percentage of 1855/1960) and 'Cycles' which is 168 (these are COMPLETE discharges/recharges whether done at once or in increments) - Apple usually states that their iDevice batteries should maintain 80% or so health after 500 cycles; SO, for the moment your battery is fine. Dave :)

@Lori:

You really do not need Coconut Battery to tell you the status of your iPhone battery. The built in battery health indicator in iOS is just as accurate. You can compare them to see if there is any differences.

As per my prior post, well we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this.

Well done. Truly.

A trivial point: the latest version of iOS for your iPhone is 13.2.3 Probably worth updating it. Won't take long.

And maybe the last fix all the previous iOS Version 13.x goof-ups version for a while at least. :Smirk:

I do apologise, lori. I was looking at your attached image in post #31. It showed your iOS as version 13.1.3. Presumably you have updated it since that post to 13.2.3.

No offence intended.
