fellow apple and iphone users,
l have a need for another phone / preferably a cheaper way of allowing me to use a 2nd sim card. please give suggestions. eg l considered the simore dual sim case, but the reviews have been poor,https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.simore.com
many saying connectivity is poor or it doesnt even work. thats not acceptable.
l would even consider a watch that can take sim card that works just as a phone. as a last resort l could just buy an old old phone, eg an old nokia. so 1st choice is dual sim active case with battery back up 2nd. a watch accepting sim card so can take and make calls 3. an old nokia / similar phone. any suggestions?

The only dual sim iPhones I know of are the iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr. Of the three choices you list I guess #3 is the best. I know the apple watch pairs off your iPhone and calls coming into the phone forward to the watch. This is the same for the Samsung watches my friends have .

I have never heard of a dual sim setup for the 6s

Not for the 6s. As Lisa pointed out, only the new Xs, XsMax, and Xr support the dual SIM. And here in the US, as far as I'm aware, only Verizon has a dual SIM plan. There may be other carriers that will soon support a dual SIM phone but in my opinion, the only reason to have one is for use for both business and personal. I have a hard enough time keeping up with one line. ;)

Not "dual sim" in the true sense of the word, but I have used my sim card from my "dumb flip-phone" in my wife's iPhone 6S as they use the same network but different numbers of course, but it's a PITA to switch them.

What about just using a small cheap "dumb cellphone" that you could put the second sim card into. Or is all the "smart" stuff required as well????

A dual SIM iPhone has the advantage of being able to have two separate numbers on the same device rather than have to carry two phones. Folks who have a business number and personal number would no longer have to lug two phones when out and about or on a business trip. Like I said above, right now only Verizon here in the US is advertising that it supports dual SIMS.

Another supposed advantage to a dual SIM phone would be for traveling outside of the US and Canada. :)

Granted, but pretty hard to do when they aren't even available or supported.

And really, I can't believe how long it's taken to even get them this far. Many have been screaming for the feature for years!!! But I guess there wasn't enough money to implement the idea. It always comes down to money!!!

But odd that quite a few manufacturers other than Apple seemed to have managed to produce dual SIM cell/smartPhones for quite a while now.
Oh right, I forgot about the gross money part!!!

Yes, most of us have no doubt have heard of SIM card carrying cases but they sure aren't the same thing as a true "Dual-SIM" cellphone.
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both include and use one single Nano-SIM compatible slot to hold and use either ONE of the supported SIMs.
