HI there

I'm not looking for any recommendations on a specific camera but more just trying to understand a broader subject. I see lots of options to by some "external lenses"(not sure if that is the correct terminology ). They can zoom or fish etc.

Will any actually attach to an existing case or will they only work with the case that comes with it? I Have an iPhone 8 with an Ottorbox Commuter Case. I'm pretty happy with the look and feel of it and when I consider getting some fo these lenses I'm less sure if I want to get a whole new case.

Just trying to understand the process.
Thanks in advance for the help

Most of those add on lens' for the iPhone will not fit properly if you have a case on your phone. If you want to use a special Zoom lens or one to give you a "Fish-Eye" shot, you'll likely have to remove the case first, attach the lens and then shoot. There may be cases which will accommodate an add on lens but off hand, I don't know of one. But you can look around. Amazon would be a good place to start.
