Or to a vocal range. The original X is still a good phone, just not quite as fast. If you do some internet searches for reviews of the XS phone you will find somewhere a speed test comparison. It's up to you whether the difference in price is worth it.

In practical terms, there is no real difference between the Ten and the Ten S - despite all the hype. Slightly faster this or that is barely perceptible. And as far as the camera is concerned - I posted the exact specs between the two in a separate thread - they are practically identical.

I ended up getting the Xs since my 6s was fading fast (100% to 50% in about 2 hours of usage) and gotta say that I'm liking the Xs so far. Face ID has been extremely smooth and works in all sort of light conditions and conditions of my face. :)

Hmmm…??? I was thinking about those comments the other day Ian when I was looking over some reviews especially regarding the camera, and from what I was reading, I'm wondering how accurate your comments seem to be.

Sorry, but for some photographer types, there seem to be quite a few improvements on the newer latest iPhones.

Just saying…. But maybe that camera part detail stuff doesn't make that much difference to the average user, I don't know. :Smirk: :Smirk:

Surprise surprise - pre-order the iPhone Xr today - and the Store is down :)

Ordered now (I think).

Tried the Apple Store App - problem with Debit Card. Tried again online and seems to have gone through. Delivery next Friday :)

Ordered a screen protector and case at the same time. Prefer to see the phone without a case but not worth the risk.

Did you go with any of the funky colors (or colours for your hooligans across the pond) or stick with the usual? When I was thinking about the Xr, I was seriously considering the yellow. Cheaper than a yellow Porsche that's been on my wish list. :)

Blue.

I am a total sucker for things blue :)

It might even replace - or just match - my iPhone 5C

LOL. Good friend of mine went into hock last year for a new Corvette. $65K, not counting the high cost of insurance. I can't imagine how much a brand new bright yellow Porche would cost Ashwin.

But, to get back on subject..... Apple has already sold out some colors of the new Xr. Yellow, Coral, and Red seem to be the most popular. Delivary times have been pushed back to November for some. As for me, I think I'll "suffer" with my 7+ for awhile longer. (I just got my Property Tax bill for 2018!)

It seems all Xr colors and capacities are still available at the Apple Canada stores and with October 26 delivery date or Apple store pickup.

Now back to a more interesting Porsche or Corvette car story…
A friend arrived home with a brand-new Corvette several years ago and told his wife that was to be an investment. Yeah sure Dave we all said…

Well he pampered and treated that car with kid gloves, and guess what — it's now worth waaaayyyy more than what he paid for it and he really did make a good investment I guess.
So how come all our cars seem to loose value every year???

Now, maybe I should go and check my old Samsung flip-cellphone and see if if it might need a charge it hasn't needed for well over a month now!!! ;D

The order as listed in my account on the UK Apple Website still says delivery on the 26th, so fingers crossed :)

Let us know when you get it and have a chance to try it out. I'll probably get one for myself and wife but it will have to wait until January. Too many bills to pay toward the end of the year and also Xmas time presents. :)

My iPhone 6S+ seems to require a forced reboot every day now to re-enable the 4G Data :(

Let us hope the new iPhone Xr doesn't do that when it arrives on Friday.

I wonder if this could be a solution to your iPhone 6S+ problem?:

Or do some googling for other suggestions…

PS: Lots of blue Apple favicons here eh??? ;D

It has arrived :)

Like the phone, although it seems very thick compared with the 6S+ even without a case.
Not keen on the case, which of course makes it even thicker. I have to use a case as the back of the phone is glass to enable the wireless charger to work.
The wireless charger I bought works well. Not tried it with the case as well yet.
The screen protector is quite clever. You place the phone in the case and then lower the glass protector onto the phone - it is automatically in the correct place. Brilliant. Not tried that yet.

Still updating the phone. Setup FaceView although not actually tested it yet.
I really need to make the text thicker. I think I set that in the other phones.

It seems to have setup just by placing it near another iPhone - then it allowed me to install a backup from a different phone.
Well impressed with that :)

Two minor problems:
it didn't install the Backup. Does that mean I have to reset and start again? I suspect the Software Update made it lose the Wifi Connection.
How do I power it down? Holding in the Power Button just wakes Siri.

The iPhone X is powered down by holding down the Power AND the volume up button.

Thanks :)

Trying a reset to get it to restore from the Backup.
