I currently own an iPhone 7, and I'm really happy with it. Might upgrade to a newer version next year or whenever my current one breaks :D

Does that mean, they are doing away with the 8, 9, etc numbering?

Yes, it sure appears like Apple has employed a new naming system for their iPhones. I guess that's supposed to be in opposition from what Samsung has done with their "Galaxy" series.

By the way, the XR in Blue looks nice. I suspect the XR is going to be a very popular phone especially with the starting price of $749. LOL, did you ever think years ago that you would be spending that much on a phone?

If you were going to buy the iPhone X, you have the Xs or Xr to choose from, so no loss there. The iPhone 7 and 8 are still available and will be reduced in price likely, so that's cover the people who wanted the SE.

I was hoping for a new SE to upgrade to this year as I'm tired of giant phones, and my 2 year old 7+ is starting to show some issues. But considering these phones don't seem to be capable of lasting longer than 2 years I can't justify the high price that Apple wants. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I can't make my 7+ keep limping on, but Apple has priced me out of iPhones.

What usually doesn't last past 2 years in most iPhones is the battery. Of course that depends on how much you use the phone and how many charge cycles are on it. My 7+ still shows a battery capable of 100% charge and it's approaching two years old. Other than that, most folks get more than two years from their phones.

As for the SE, it just hasn't sold that well even though the folks who own one seem to love the smaller size. Apple would have certainly continued it if it had been a best seller. Most iPhone owners (and Android owners) seem to prefer the larger size and sales prove that to be true.

Anyone here thinking of spending $1100 on a new iPhone? :)

$5000 for an iMac Pro...$1100 no problem for new phone!;)

I love the look of the iPhone Xs Max just not loving the price. I may just sit this one out. I love my iPhone X and obviously it was not cheap so I think I will keep it for at least another year - unless I can sell it! We shall see....

Hmmm…??? The "Xs" all look the the same to me other than the size difference if they're shown together.

Bummer on the SE. I was considering buying one unlocked at some point to replace my 7, which has always felt a little large to me. The prices are starting to get a little rich for my blood as well. I may have to start reconsidering my platform choice. A grand, or close to it, for a phone isn't something I'd consider.

So, is the XR bigger, than the XS, just cheaper components?

Have a look at the comparisons here Bob:
https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

As for pricing, all I can say is just absurd!! Crazy absurd!!! Especially the Canadian pricing!!

There are quite a few differences. The XR body is aluminum whereas the other two are stainless steel, LCD display compared to OLED, less built in memory, and some others. Take a look at the link Patrick included.

Don't feel slighted Patrick. The UK and European prices are also inflated.

Unfortunately with most people just renting their phones these days instead of buying them outright the extra monthly cost probably won't be enough for most people to put off upgrading so Apple won't see enough of a slowdown in sales to feel they need to drop their prices.

ROTFL. Clearly you have some other compadre from Louisiana in mind.

Given that the hat collection has not arrived to be sold off, perhaps you could loan me some of that Texas oil money. lol
