My iPhone 4s that I got last october has been overheating and cannot hold a charge. The battery drains quickly if it isn't plugged in so I try to keep it plugged in when I have the chance but when it is plugged in it says "iPhone is too hot to use" even though I am inside. I am trying to figure out how to fix this problem without having to buy a new phone. Please Help!

Take it to Apple and show them the issue. They should replace it under warranty.

Heat build up could indicate pending failure prior to disintegration. I would in all honesty not try charging it again and take it back as per robduckyworth's advice.
