Home button works, touch does not. LCD displays charging, but not after power-up

I replaced the LCD and Digitizer on a Ipad Mini 2 (A190). Here is a list of my problems, it's easier to read than one large paragraph.

1) After replacing both the LCD and digitizer, the ipad was in need of charging. The LCD turns on to display the red battery. Confirms the LCD works.

2) After the boot logo and the ipad charged, the LCD works for a few minutes to display the homescreen, then goes blank.

3) During those few minutes of the LCD working, I tested the digitizer. The home button works, but touch does not.

4) The power button does not respond to turn the ipad display on. Only the home button turns on the display.

5) LCD goes blank. I reconnect the charger to verify if the ipad is dead. It is not as there is a connecting charge sound.

6) After letting the ipad die over a 24hr period, the LCD works again to display the dead-battery logo.

7) I did not disconnect the battery at all during this installation; however, the iPad was completely dead during installation.

Any idea what's going on? This is new to me after years of ipad screen repairs. First time experiencing this.

No need to "Bump" a post on an on line forum as it will always show up as unread or if read, with replies.

As to your problem.... where did you buy the Screen-Digitizer combo? Replacement parts or genuine Apple? It sounds like you may have gotten a defective part or there may have been something else wrong with the iPad other than a broken screen. Without any previous history or details, that's the best we can guess at.

My apologies. This is my first time in here. I bought the LCD and digitizer separately on eBay. Went price shopping. I do not believe these are genuine apple parts.

I have used a new digitizer. The problem is still persisting though. LCD works fine. The digitizer touch is not responding at all, home button responds. I made sure to test the power button, volume, and silence switch, they are all unresponsive once the ipad is charged in addition to the inoperable touch feature.

Attached is a photo of my ports.

My son dropped this a month ago right in the center right side. This is why I have to change the screen out.

Any ideas?

No, sorry. Something else may have been damaged when your son dropped the iPad. It appears that you've done everything correctly. You might want to go to www.ifixit.com and see if you can get some ideas from there.

Responding to this incase someone else has this issue. I went to an iPad repair shop and they confirmed what I believed. It was the digitizer port. If you notice in the photo there is no more gold. I am not messing with that logic board. I am paying them the $65 to replace it.

Thanks for posting back. I would not have suspected the port to be defective.
