So I recently purchased the 10.5 iPad Pro with thr pencil. I ended up spending over $1200 dollars. I felt so guily that I took it all back the next day and I jumped on amazon and happen to catch a flash sale on an iPad Pro 9.7 256g cellular model for $699! I saved about half the money I originally spent and I’m even more happy with the iPad Pro 9.7. How man out there still use this great iPad? I future proofed mine by getting the 256g.

As always, you can spend as much as you want on Apple devices. Spending $1200 on a 10.5" iPad Pro is easily possible when ordering the cellular model, pencil, and max storage. I spent much less for my 10.5" iPad Pro because I did not buy the cellular model and I only needed 64 GB of storage. No pencil.

You purchased older technology (9.7" iPad Pro with 256 GB) but that's fine as long as you're happy with it. It's always a good idea to first check the Apple Refurbished Store to see if they have what you need. Apple refurbished products are like new and come with the Apple standard warranty. You can even add Apple Care Plus.

Well I wanted the 10.5 Pro but I had to have something in cellular as I cherry my iPad with me everywhere I go just like my phone and I also use a small phone which is not the best for media use. I have owned the pro 9.7 before and I knew it was a really well made iPad have more than what I actually need from an iPad. I wanted to purchase something for long term which is why I went with 256g and if you get that and cellular with the 10.5 inch it equals to be quite expensive. I felt guilty over it and returned but wow was it nice. So simce I had been waiting the opportunity to get two new iPhones a pencil and a iPad all of that together is quite expensive so I needed to try and cut my expenses down as much as I could. That said I was able to catch a flash Black Friday sale on amazon being at the right place at the right time and the money difference between the 128g Pro 9.7 and 256g on that sale was only $3 dollars so I basically the 256g for very cheap. Regular price for the iPad Pro 9.7 I purchased would have been $1029 compared to the $699 I spent. Plus I kne the iPad Pro 9.7 was plenty enough iPad for me and what I use it for. The 10.5 is more powerful but the 9.7 is too. I’m actually surprised Apple didn’t keep it as an option but I know why as it would hurt the sales of the 10.5 bc of just how good the 9.7 Pro is. So I was excited to save almost half of what I initially spent at the Apple store. I still purchased the Apple Pencil and it’s case at the Apple store but my main three things I wanted was support to the Apple Pencil, 256g to future proof me and something in cellular was a must. So overall I would have rather gotten the 10.5 but since I just got thr iPhone 8 and now about to order either the iPhone X or the Red iPhone 7 I had to cut expenses somewhere and getting a 256g cellular iPad Pro 9.7 for only $699 was incredible compared to what I initially spent which was $1215 when I first got the 10.5 Pro and Pencil. I’m very happy with the 9.7 Pro as it’s still a very up to date device that should last me several years to come. After that I’ll upgrade to the newest generation of the iPad. Now I just have to decide between my second iPhone as I always have two iPhones to swap back and forth with.

You don't always need the "latest & greatest". I still have an iPad 3 from 2012 laying around...and it still gets the job done.:)

Many times what forces an upgrade is the iOS. Sometimes/many times...Apple introduces new features that only comes with a newer iOS version...or many apps may require a newer iOS version that an older iPad may not be capable of running.

More than happy with my iPad Pro 9.7.

I've passed mine to me son for college but for no reason other than I really wanted the 12.9 :) But I love the 9.7 pro. More than capable and, as you've found, there are some great deals out there for it.

How do you like the iPad 12.9 Pro? Is it too large to carry around with you or do you mainly use it at your home? I like to carry my iPad around with me everywhere but I’ve always wanted to get the 12.9 too. I was actually thinking about getting one instead of another laptop but I really need the functionality of the true laptop over another IOS device. Maybe one day I’ll pick one up. I also think it would a good iPad to watch movies on too or a lot media consumption. I’m on YouTube a lot and actually just created a channel so the 12.9 would be nice to have. Have you liked it better than the 9.7?
