Music from iCloud to iPad so no need for Wi Fi

Hello Mac Forum,

I am trying to get all of my music from the iCloud onto my older iPad 5.1.1 (9B206), Model MB292LL.

When logged into iTunes for a music sync, I receive the notice:

"iTunes Match is On

iPad can access your iCloud Music Library. Songs can be downloaded and played via Wi-Fi or a cellular network.”

I could use some advice on how to get my music onto my iPad so I can listen to my music when I am far away from Wi-Fi.

My knee-jerk reaction is to say use iTunes on a Mac/PC and sync the library to your iPad.

Thank you. This was my approach for the sync from a mac to ipad, (on my newer and older mac ) and I tried syncing the library.

Not sure if this helps, but on your iPad Go to Settings > Music > and make sure iCloud Music Library is checked as ON, as well as on your Mac (in iTunes).

You should check to be sure that the music you want to sync to the iPad will actually fit on the iPad.

Your tips led me to a support site and I am doing this: One at a time. Tedious but it seems to be working.

On an iPhone or iPod touch
Open the iTunes Store app.
At the bottom of the screen, tap More > Purchased > Music.
Tap "Not on This [device]."
Find the song, album, or music video that you want to download, then tap it.
Tap download icon to the right of the title. The song, album, or music video downloads to your device.
