transfer book from my kindle to my wife's ipad??? possible?

i have macbook pro, using sierra. i also have kindle reader on that, but I bought a book from amazon and had it sent to my kindle paperwhite, not my macbook pro kindle reader.

now, my wife would like to read it on her ipad. Is there a way to get it over to her from my kindle?

As long as the Kindle app is in your name and is loaded on your Paper White Kindle, your wife's iPad, and your MacBook Pro, you should be able to sync and read the book on all three devices. I have the Kindle app on my iMac, and my iPhone. I can sync all my books and read them on both devices.

Chscag - I buy books for my iPad on Amazon or on iBooks, use the latter when I want to share the purchases w/ my wife (same Apple account); however, on Amazon we have different accounts and although I've not really worry about sharing my Amazon book purchases w/ her (we have very different reading tastes), do you know a way, if even possible? Thanks - that's a thought I've never tried - so if I went on her iPad Mini, then signed into Amazon w/ my account, would that device be added to my download options or would the Kindle app be an option - Dave

I don't think that problem exists with iBooks purchases since Apple allows for a family account (if you set it up that way). Or even easier, use the same Apple ID as I do with my wife.

Thanks Tom. I didn't know Kindle books could be loaned out. That might be a better solution for Dave rather than swapping devices.

Nothing so complicated. We just swop ipads, read what we want then swap back.

Thanks again - our iPads are so different (e.g. games) plus I don't like reading on her Mini - I'll just stick to my current plan, i.e. when I know she might want to also read a book I'm about to purchase, then I'll use iBooks - and will considered the Amazon 'loan' option if an issue. Dave

Thanks very much for this. I have registered devices owned by a couple of close relatives to my account so that they can share my purchases but didn't know about this. It will be extremely useful to swop books with friends. I've always felt it was mean of Amazon to restrict what you could do with a download when you are able to lend a traditional book as many times as you like.

How to add a device to an Amazon account:
Download the relevant kindle reader app to the device - laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc. Log in to your Amazon account using that app and it will register the device to your Amazon account.
