hi,
It seems I have two Apple IDs, I recently signed up to be an AppleDeveloper with one, however I now realise some previous AR builds produced by a programmer were associated with a different Apple ID...can I associate two Apple IDs to my Apple Developer Account ? or do I need to sign up a 2nd time as an Apple developer in order to work with those builds that are linked to my older Apple ID ?

thanks

ian

Hullo Ian,

Welcome to Mac-Forums. Nice to have you along.

Apple treats all IDs as separate and you cannot merge Apple IDs. I know nothing about being an Apple Developer, but this basic tenet of Apple practice is bound to apply here as well.

Having dealt with merging IDs; you ask whether you can associate two Apple IDs with one account. I'm as certain as I can be, that you cannot associate more than one Apple ID with any kind of account, be it iCloud, iTunes, whatever. Apple treats your two IDs as if they belonged to two entirely different people.

Ian (yes, another one!)

As Apple puts it no way. Have a read of this:-

"Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs. If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud."

I recently changed the password on my wife's Apple ID. The new one works fine on iCloud but iTunes doesn't seem to recognise it so that she cannot download any apps. Presumably I can request a new password but can anyone explain why a different password is required for iTunes please?

Not if they the same Apple Account ID. Any single ID, should not be able to have two passwords unlock one single account.
